The Community Arts Gallery is nestled within the First Merchants Bank, an integral part of the vibrant Ferndale, community. This unique space is owned by First Merchants Bank and collaboratively affiliated with the City of Ferndale. I had the distinct honor of receiving a joint invitation from the City of Ferndale and First Merchants Bank to infuse this modern venue with the creative spirit of local artists.
Dedicated gallery space spanning approximately 800 square feet, the gallery features two expansive walls adorned with south-facing windows that bathe the space in natural light. This gallery is not only artist-run but also deeply rooted in the local neighborhood. Together, this becomes vibrant hub where artists can proudly showcase their work and engage with the broader community.
The Community Arts Gallery is located inside First Merchants Bank at 22635 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220

Submission 1:
As a volunteer coordinator for the Community Arts Gallery, I dedicate my time to reviewing applications, organizing shows, and ensuring a seamless experience for artists. The application fee, kept at a modest $15, helps cover the time and effort required for this process. This is an artist-run space with no external funding and zero commission on sales—meaning you keep everything you earn from your work! Since this space operates on a rotating schedule and accepts a limited number of applications each year, the fee is non-refundable to maintain fairness and sustainability. Your support helps keep the gallery running and ensures opportunities for fellow artists. By submitting your application you also agree that your submission fee is non-refundable.
