Free Art Collective Group Show!
The Free Art Collective is a grassroots, not-for-profit, arts organization that distributes free artwork and art supplies across the United States (www.freeartcollective.org). It was founded by Rochester New York artist Gabrielle Peck. They have teamed up with Detroit based artist Amanda Koss who curates The Gallery at Brewery Park located within the Crain Communications building in Eastern Market (www.amandakossart.com).
Together, Gabrielle and Amanda, are inviting the Detroit branch of the Free Art Collective to exhibit up to two pieces of their work within the gallery! You are welcome to exhibit the originals sent to the Free Art Collective, if you have them, or different pieces.
The Free Art Collective depends entirely on the donation of funds from community members and artworks from artists. At this time, neither the founder of the collective nor contributing artists receive compensation, although we will help all of our artists quit their day jobs in the future!
**Call for entries end date: Sunday March 19th***
Exhibition dates: Monday April 3rd through Thursday April 27th.
Acceptance emails: Friday March 24th
Art drop off: Friday March 31st at 11 am - 12 pm
Opening reception: Saturday April 15th at 3-4:30 pm
Unsold artwork pickup: Friday April 28th 10 am
Art drop-off date is firm, there will not be an alternative. All artwork must be originals, no prints please.
There will be a 35% commission collected from sold artwork. Please price your piece(s) accordingly.
