There is no other way than this to explain this piece of art. Being a mother is amazing, and then it isnt... But then at the same time it is the best thing I have ever done. I love watching my kids become the humans they are destined to be and I love supporting them in every single way possible to navigate to that point. I love to celebrate them every day, but it is also hard to let them go and be who they are at the same time, gut wrenching. I am lucky, I can do this. I am here for this. One day I wont be, but every day until then I am present I am enjoying the waxing and weaning of being their mother.
This piece is a part of an upcoming Motherhood exhibition I am curating with local artists, which will be on exhibit in 2025. Until then, I am leaning in and listening to the calls of motherhood and how it draws me to the canvas.
